Kathryn Basran is the managing partner of the firm. Kathryn’s family law practice primarily focuses on complex asset division and maintenance involving corporate holdings, real property and trusts. Kathryn has considerable litigation experience and is a leading lawyer in matrimonial law, appearing as counsel in cases before the Provincial and the Supreme Court of British Columbia and the British Columbia Court of Appeal. Kathryn expends extensive efforts on obtaining reasonable negotiated settlements to her clients’ disputes wherever appropriate and has participated with clients in mediation in resolving numerous matrimonial disputes.

In 1990, Kathryn obtained a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Laws in 1994 from the University of Saskatchewan. Kathryn is a contributor to continuing legal education seminars for lawyers and regularly presents at conferences on complex matrimonial issues. Kathryn is an active member of the Vancouver family bar and is the past chair of the Canadian Bar Associations’ Vancouver family law section, editor of the BC Family Law Practice Manual, and guest instructor at the British Columbia professional legal training course.

As a past member of the Canadian National Swim Team, Kathryn spends her timewhen not practicing lawin the pool and playing various sports with her family.
